COMMODITY

The Commodity section allows administrators to define and manage specific categories of goods or materials used in engineering, production, or procurement. This interface helps classify raw materials, components, or products based on their type and purpose to streamline inventory management and procurement processes.

Follow these steps to access the Commodity interface:

  1. Navigate to the Engineering module from the main menu
  2. Under the Secondary Master section, select Commodity

The Commodity interface will display all existing commodities and provide options to create new entries.

Creating a New Commodity

Step 1: Initiate Commodity Creation

Click the Add button in the toolbar to begin creating a new commodity.

Step 2: Complete the Commodity Form

A commodity configuration form will appear with the following fields:

Commodity Name Enter the name of the commodity ✓ Yes
Description Provide a brief description of the commodity Optional
Remarks Add any additional comments or notes Optional
Active Status Toggle to enable/disable the commodity (enabled by default) ✓ Yes

Step 3: Save the Commodity

After completing all required information, click the Save button to create the commodity entry.

Warning

The Commodity Name field is mandatory.

Once created, all commodities are displayed in the Commodity table.

Each commodity in the listing supports the following actions:

Edit Commodity

Click the Pencil icon in the Actions column to modify commodity details including name, description, or active status.

View Commodity

Click the Eye icon in the Actions column to view complete commodity details in read-only mode.
