COST CENTER

The Cost Center section allows administrators to define and manage departments, units, or functions within an organization where costs are incurred and tracked separately. This interface helps in budgeting, expense management, and financial analysis by allocating costs to specific business activities for better financial control and reporting.

Follow these steps to access the Cost Center interface:

  1. Navigate to the Engineering module from the main menu
  2. Under the Secondary Master section, select Cost Center

The Cost Center interface will display all existing cost centers and provide options to create new entries.

Creating a New Cost Center

Step 1: Initiate Cost Center Creation

Click the Add button in the toolbar to begin creating a new cost center.

Step 2: Complete the Cost Center Form

A cost center configuration form will appear with the following fields:

Cost Center Name Enter the name of the cost center ✓ Yes
Description Provide a brief description of the cost center Optional
Remarks Add any relevant comments or notes Optional
Active Status Toggle to enable/disable the cost center (enabled by default) ✓ Yes

Step 3: Save the Cost Center

After completing all required information, click the Save button to create the cost center entry.

Warning

The Cost Center Name field is mandatory.

Managing Existing Cost Centers

Once created, all cost centers are displayed in the Cost Center table.

Each cost center in the listing supports the following actions:

Edit Cost Center

Click the Pencil icon in the Actions column to modify cost center details including name, description, or active status.

View Cost Center

Click the Eye icon in the Actions column to view complete cost center details in read-only mode.
