COSTING METHOD
The Costing Method section allows administrators to define how the cost of materials, labor, and overhead is calculated for a product or service. This interface helps businesses track expenses, set pricing strategies, and manage profitability through standardized costing approaches.
Navigation
Follow these steps to access the Costing Method interface:
- Navigate to the Engineering module from the main menu
- Under the Secondary Master section, select Costing Method
The Costing Method interface will display all existing costing methods and provide options to create new entries.
Creating a New Costing Method
Step 1: Initiate Costing Method Creation
Click the Add button in the toolbar to begin creating a new costing method.
Step 2: Complete the Costing Method Form
A costing method configuration form will appear with the following fields:
Costing Method Information

| Active Status | Toggle to enable/disable the costing method (enabled by default) | ✓ Yes |
Step 3: Save the Costing Method
After completing all required information, click the Save button to create the costing method entry.
Warning
The Costing Method Name field is mandatory.
Managing Existing Costing Methods
Costing Method Listing View
Once created, all costing methods are displayed in the Costing Method table.
Actions
Each costing method in the listing supports the following actions:
Edit Costing Method
Click the Pencil icon in the Actions column to modify cost center details including name, description, or active status.
View Costing Method
Click the Eye icon in the Actions column to view complete cost center details in read-only mode.
Toolbar Features
The Costing Method interface includes the following toolbar features:
