DEPARTMENT
The Department section allows administrators to define and manage functional units within the organization. This interface helps streamline operations, manage resources efficiently, and organize teams based on their roles and responsibilities.
Navigation
Follow these steps to access the Department interface:
- Navigate to the Engineering module from the main menu
- Under the Secondary Master section, select Department

The Department interface will display all existing departments and provide options to create new entries.
Creating a New Department
Step 1: Initiate Department Creation
Click the Add button in the toolbar to begin creating a new department.

Step 2: Complete the Department Form
A department configuration form will appear with the following fields:

Department Information

| Department Name | Enter the name of the department | ✓ Yes |
| Description | Provide a description of the department | Optional |
| Remarks | Enter any relevant remarks or notes | Optional |
| Active Status | Toggle to enable/disable the department (enabled by default) | ✓ Yes |
Step 3: Save the Department
After completing all required information, click the Save button to create the department entry.
Warning
The Department Name field is mandatory.
Managing Existing Departments
Department Listing View
Once created, all departments are displayed in the Department table.

Actions

Each department in the listing supports the following actions:
Edit Department
Click the Pencil icon in the Actions column to modify cost center details including name, description, or active status.
View Department
Click the Eye icon in the Actions column to view complete department details in read-only mode. - Access: Click the eye icon in the Actions column
