CUSTOMER CATEGORY

The Customer Category section allows administrators to classify customers based on specific business-defined groupings, such as Government, Private, Export, or Key Accounts. These categories help in segmenting customers for pricing, reporting, and strategic decisions within the sales and marketing system.

Follow these steps to access the Customer Category interface:

  1. Navigate to the Sales and Marketing module from the main menu
  2. Under the Secondary Master section, select Customer Category

The Customer Category interface will display all existing customer categories and provide options to create new entries.

Creating a New Customer Category

Step 1: Initiate Customer Category Creation

Click the Add button in the toolbar to begin creating a new customer category.

Step 2: Complete the Customer Category Form

A customer category configuration form will appear with the following fields:

Customer Category Name Enter the name of the customer category ✓ Yes
Description Provide a description of the category Optional
Remarks Add any relevant notes or internal comments Optional
Active Status Toggle to enable/disable the customer category (enabled by default) ✓ Yes

Step 3: Save the Customer Category

After completing all required information, click the Save button to create the customer category entry.

Warning

The Customer Category Name field is mandatory.

Managing Existing Customer Categories

Once created, all customer categories are displayed in the Customer Category table.

Each customer category in the listing supports the following actions:

Edit Customer Category

Click the Pencil icon in the Actions column to modify the selected customer category information.

View Customer Category

Click the Eye icon in the Actions column to view complete customer category details in read-only mode - Access: Click the eye icon in the Actions column
